Vintage 1948 Portable Cine-Kodak 16mm Film Editing Kit with Instructions

$ 29.04

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

This vintage 16mm editing kit comes complete with the original instruction book — see pictures for sample pages. The instruction book has a June 1948 date code which suggests this kit is from 1948 or 1949. Included are the two cranks and the editing bracket, all in their proper places in the case. Note that the ruler in the pictures is 15 inches long.
The instruction book says the viewer takes a 15 watt candelabra bulb, and amazingly the bulb that is installed still works — see the two before-and-after pictures, one showing the editing screen illuminated. Packed for shipment, this weighs 12 and a half pounds. An example of great engineering, design and craftsmanship from the golden age of Kodak in Rochester, New York.
